Sketching trip #3...

A bit of colour this time (wooo!) and still trying to get the gist rather than accuracy. I have to say I'm finding the whole 'artistic licence' thing quite stressful though (plus I was getting a bit obsessive with all the tiles and bricks...!).  And perspective... well that's a whole other kettle of fish!

This is a semi-imaginary view of Cockburn Street, off the Royal Mile, here in Edinburgh.

..well I like it!.....

We're off on holiday before long, and I'll be doing some of this too....

I find it relaxing, and it connects you with a place so much more than just snapping photos (although I do a lot of THAT too!)

Keep going with it...you'll settle into "your" style soon.

Kate! I am so pround of you! I love the composition and the textures and how you made use of the window (yes, the one that does not exist:) Beautiful drawing! Are you sure you are not doing any secret sketching in between our sessions? k x

Thank you Chris and Kasia :)

And no, no secret sessions :P but I do feel I'm beginning to get an idea of my own style - and it is surprising to me! I'm looking forward to exploring it more :)
