Over the last couple of days I have been revelling in the colour of beautiful new supplies - silk hankies from Sassalynne, Tussah silk roving from SilkAndShine, handdyed firestar from FeltStudioUK, and the most amazing 'wooly crumbs' from The Wool Peddler:
so much inspiration!
I'm also still trying to come up with new shape ideas for brooches and necklaces... so I thought I would open it up to you! Leave a comment on this post with your suggestions for new shapes for me to try - if I end up using any of your shape ideas, in return you get to pick an item of your choice from my Etsy shop that I will send to you as a thank you!
I seem to prefer more abstract or organic shapes, and am limited to somewhat simpler forms (it's not possible to preserve detail in very complex shapes). Here are some shapes I have already tried, to get you going:
Thank you!

Hi,
How about stacking your shapes to add more dimenstion, or even rolling them and then stacking them.

I like the maple leaf and the right pointing tulip! Nice crisp images, but you could do a lot of fun surface design with them...count me in for giveaway!
what about simle bird shapes you could make a separate wing in a different colour ........or take inspiration from African patterns geometrics triangles etc....x
Hi,
Looking to the skies, bow about a crescent moon-type shape or a sunburst. Going with basic geometric shapes... maybe a long oval which you could then attach hanging drops to as you did with the cloud. And one other idea - your colours often remind me of tropical fish, so a simple fish shape might work.

I think simple, organic shapes suit your beautiful pieces of stitchery.
Maybe have a look at close-ups - I mean MEGA close-ups of snowflakes/particles/cells etc...
...could be interesting :-)
Thank you so much everyone for your great suggestions! Watch this space!! If I use any of your ideas, I'll write a blog post and get in touch with you about your reward :D
