Thank you for the compliment :D but I must 'fess up that for the spiral swirls I've actually just couched the thread rather than stitching it - I've used viscose gimp and gilt purl goldwork wire here. I really like the relief effect it gives. The little woven-looking circles are 'woven spider's wheel' stitch.
